10.1 — Privacy Policy

Last Updated: July 27, 2026

Introduction

At 10.1, we care about privacy and data protection. This Privacy Policy explains how 10.1 collects, uses, stores, and shares information when merchants install or use our Shopify app and when shoppers interact with our virtual try-on features on a Shopify store.

10.1 is an AI-powered virtual try-on app for Shopify. The app allows shoppers to browse eligible products through a carousel-based experience, select one or more garments, upload or reuse a saved shopper photo, and generate an AI-created try-on image.

10.1 does not currently provide a fitting mode, estimate body measurements, or generate personalized size or fit recommendations. This Privacy Policy applies to our Shopify app, storefront features, merchant dashboard, support services, and any related website or product operated by 10.1.

Scope of this Policy

This policy applies to Shopify merchants who install or use 10.1, shoppers who use 10.1 on a merchant's Shopify store, and visitors who interact with our website, support channels, or related services.

For shopper data collected through a merchant's Shopify store, the merchant is generally the business responsible for deciding how that data is used. 10.1 processes the data needed to provide the app's features on behalf of the merchant.

Information We Collect

Information from Merchants

We do not collect or store full payment card information. Shopify handles app billing and subscription payments.

  • Shopify store name and shop domain.
  • Store ID or shop identifier.
  • Merchant email address or other contact information.
  • App installation and subscription status.
  • App settings and configuration.
  • Product and variant information needed for virtual try-on.
  • Product and garment images.
  • Product category assignments used in the carousel, such as tops, bottoms, one-piece garments, and shoes.
  • Product visibility, exclusion, and carousel configuration settings.
  • Product metafields or other settings used to determine whether virtual try-on is enabled.
  • Try-on usage, plan limits, and billing-related app usage data.

Information from Shoppers

  • A shopper photo uploaded for virtual try-on.
  • One or more selected products and variants.
  • Product or garment images associated with the selected items.
  • Product category information used to organize the carousel.
  • An AI-generated virtual try-on image.
  • A temporary try-on job or session ID.
  • A saved photo profile ID, if the shopper chooses to save or reuse a photo.
  • A Shopify customer ID, if the shopper is logged in and the merchant's setup supports this.
  • Technical information needed to connect the shopper's request with the resulting image.

Saved Shopper Photo Profiles

If saved photo profiles are enabled and the shopper chooses to use them, 10.1 may store the shopper photo selected for reuse, a saved photo profile ID, saved profile images or image references, a Shopify customer ID, session identifier, or similar identifier used to reconnect the shopper with the saved profile where supported, and data needed to reuse the saved photo for future virtual try-ons.

Saved photo profiles are used to make future virtual try-ons faster by allowing a shopper to reuse a previously saved image instead of uploading it again.

Automatically Collected Information

This information helps us operate, secure, debug, and improve the app.

  • Browser type.
  • Device type.
  • IP address.
  • App usage events.
  • Error logs.
  • Try-on job status events.
  • Pages or products where the virtual try-on feature is used.
  • Cookies, local storage, or similar data needed for app functionality.

Information from Third Parties

We may receive information from third-party services that help us operate 10.1, including Shopify, hosting providers, database providers, file storage providers, queue and infrastructure providers, AI image-generation providers, and analytics, logging, security, or support tools. We use information received from these services only to provide, maintain, secure, support, and improve 10.1.

How We Use Information

We do not sell shopper photos, saved photo profiles, generated try-on images, or merchant customer data.

  • Provide and operate the 10.1 Shopify app.
  • Display the virtual try-on experience on eligible products or storefront pages.

  • Process shopper photos for virtual try-on.
  • Generate AI-created virtual try-on images.

  • Provide customer support.
  • Debug technical issues.
  • Improve app performance and reliability.
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access.
  • Comply with legal obligations and Shopify requirements.

AI Processing

10.1 uses AI and computer-vision tools to generate virtual try-on images. To provide a requested virtual try-on, we may send necessary data to AI service providers, such as the shopper photo, selected garment, product, or variant images, product category or garment-type information, and technical instructions or a generated prompt needed to create the requested image.

We send only the information reasonably needed to generate and deliver the requested virtual try-on result. We do not use shopper photos or generated try-on images to train our own AI models unless we clearly disclose that use and obtain any consent required by applicable law.

AI-generated results are created automatically and may not perfectly represent how a product will look, drape, or fit in real life.

Shopper Images and Potentially Sensitive Data

10.1 processes shopper photos to provide virtual try-on results. Depending on the shopper's location and the content of an image, a shopper photo may be treated as personal information or sensitive personal data under applicable law. 10.1 uses shopper photos only for virtual try-on, saved photo profiles when selected, support, security, and related app functionality.

  • We do not use shopper photos for facial recognition.
  • We do not use shopper photos to verify identity.
  • We do not identify shoppers by analyzing their faces.
  • We do not sell shopper photos or saved photo profiles.
  • We do not use shopper photos for behavioral advertising.

Information Sharing

We may share information only when needed to provide, operate, secure, or support 10.1. We may share information with Shopify to operate the app, authenticate stores, manage installation, support billing, and meet Shopify requirements; cloud storage providers; database providers; queue and infrastructure providers; AI service providers; analytics, support, and security providers; and legal or regulatory authorities when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or security.

We may also share information in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of business assets, as permitted by law. We do not sell personal information.

Cookies and Local Storage

10.1 may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies for necessary app functionality. These technologies may be used to maintain a virtual try-on session, remember a temporary shopper photo or profile reference, connect a shopper to a saved photo profile, keep the carousel and virtual try-on interface working correctly, remember selected products during the try-on flow, track job status while a virtual try-on is being processed, prevent duplicate uploads or duplicate job submissions, and improve app security and reliability.

10.1 does not use shopper photos or generated try-on images for advertising tracking.

Data Protection

We use reasonable technical, organizational, and administrative measures designed to protect information. These measures may include HTTPS encryption, secure Shopify authentication, access controls, restricted production-data access, secure cloud storage, webhook verification, logging and monitoring, and separation between app systems, storage, and background job processing.

No system is completely secure, but we work to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. If a data incident occurs, we will take appropriate steps to investigate it, reduce potential harm, and notify affected parties when required by law.

Data Retention

We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed to provide the app, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and maintain security. Our general retention approach is described below.

Merchant Data

Merchant account data, app settings, billing status, product configuration, carousel settings, and usage records may be stored while the app is installed. Some information may be retained after uninstall when needed for legal, billing, security, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes.

Temporary Virtual Try-On Jobs

Uploaded shopper photos, selected product data, generated try-on images, and temporary job files are generally retained for a limited period, such as up to 30 days, unless they are saved as part of a shopper photo profile or need to be retained longer for support, security, fraud prevention, or legal reasons.

Saved Shopper Photo Profiles

Saved photo profile data may be stored until the shopper or merchant requests deletion, the shopper removes the saved profile, the merchant uninstalls the app, the profile is otherwise deleted under our retention practices, or deletion is required by law.

Logs & Backups

Technical logs may be retained for a limited period to debug issues, improve reliability, investigate abuse, and protect the app. Deleted data may remain in backups for a limited period before it is overwritten or permanently deleted.

Shopify Privacy Requests

10.1 is designed to support Shopify's required privacy and compliance processes. This may include handling requests related to customer data access, customer data deletion, and shop data deletion.

When we receive a valid request through Shopify or from a merchant, we will delete, anonymize, or provide applicable personal information as required, unless we are legally permitted or required to retain certain information for security, billing, fraud-prevention, legal, or dispute-resolution purposes.

User Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your personal information, correct inaccurate personal information, delete your personal information, object to certain processing, restrict certain processing, request a copy of your information, withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing, and file a complaint with a privacy or data-protection authority.

Merchants can contact us directly using the contact information below. Shoppers should generally contact the Shopify merchant first because the merchant controls the store where 10.1 is used. We will assist merchants with valid privacy requests when required.

Region-Specific Rights

EEA, UK, and Switzerland

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may have rights under applicable privacy laws, including rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, request data portability, and withdraw consent where applicable.

California and Other U.S. State Privacy Rights

If you are located in California or another U.S. state with applicable privacy rights, you may have rights to know what personal information is collected, request access, deletion, or correction, and opt out of certain sales, sharing, or targeted advertising where applicable. 10.1 does not sell personal information and does not use shopper photos for behavioral advertising.

Children's Privacy

Merchants should not knowingly use 10.1 to collect shopper photos or create saved photo profiles for children unless they have the legal authority and any required consent to do so. If we learn that we collected a child's personal information without proper authorization, we will delete it when required by law.

Merchant Responsibilities

  • Updating their store privacy policy to explain how 10.1 is used.
  • Informing shoppers that their photos and selected product images may be processed to generate virtual try-on results.
  • Explaining whether saved shopper photo profiles are available.
  • Obtaining any consent required by applicable law.
  • Configuring eligible products, carousel categories, and product visibility appropriately.
  • Using the app only in compliance with applicable laws.
  • Responding to shopper privacy requests.
  • Contacting 10.1 when assistance is needed to access or delete app-related data.

Accuracy of AI Virtual Try-On Results

10.1 provides AI-generated virtual try-on previews for visualization purposes. Generated results are estimates and may not accurately represent real-world sizing, fit, fabric behavior, color, texture, garment construction, product details, or appearance.

Results may be affected by image quality, lighting, pose, camera angle, clothing already worn in the uploaded photo, the selected product images, and other factors. 10.1 does not currently provide personalized size recommendations or guarantee that a selected product will fit the shopper. The app should not be used for medical, health, or safety decisions.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date above. If changes are material, we may notify merchants through the app, by email, or through another reasonable method. Continued use of 10.1 after an updated policy becomes effective means the revised policy applies, to the extent permitted by law.
